She stated, "It doesn't feel right to celebrate anything at such a time. My condolences are with the families who have suffered loss. I was very excited to visit and meet everyone there, but now is not the right time. I hope I can meet you all soon."

Manisha Koirala Also Condemns Violence

Renowned Nepali actress Manisha Koirala also bly condemned the violence during the protests. She described it as a "dark day" and posted a picture of blood-stained shoes on social media, writing, "Today is a dark day for Nepal, when the public's voice, anger against corruption, and demand for justice are met with bullets." Manisha's post quickly went viral on social media, and people supported her message.

Why is Violence Occurring in Nepal?

Protests and violence in Nepal began when the government banned several major social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, YouTube, Reddit, and X (formerly Twitter). Additionally, all users were mandated to register with the Communication and Information Technology Ministry by August 28.

Public anger surged against these policies, leading to widespread demonstrations. At least 19 people have reportedly died, following which Nepal's Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had to resign. The country's political instability and the social media ban further fueled this unrest.
