Anand Bhawan, located in Prayagraj, is a historic house museum that preserves the heritage associated with the Nehru family. It was built by Pandit Motilal Nehru in the 1930s when Swaraj Bhawan was converted into the Congress headquarters. The Jawahar Planetarium is also situated here, fostering a scientific outlook among people in the fields of astronomy and science.
Swaraj Bhawan—the grand residence of Motilal Nehru, where many important meetings of the freedom struggle later took place and which was also the birthplace of Indira Gandhi—is also famous. In 1970, Indira Gandhi donated it to the Government of India, and it has now been developed into a museum. This museum displays memorabilia, statues, photographs of the Nehru family, and personal belongings of great leaders. The museum includes Nehru's study, his bedroom, a special room for Mahatma Gandhi (where he used to visit), and Indira Gandhi's chamber.
It is located approximately 3.5 km from the railway station. It is also easily accessible from Prayag Station and Rambagh Station.
