Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board has provided significant relief by announcing a salary increase for its employees. Employees under consolidated muster rolls and stop-gap arrangements, who had been awaiting a raise for a considerable time, will see their salaries increase by up to 400 percent. Regular employees, including Imams and Khatibs, will receive a 20 percent raise.
There is also good news for engineering staff, as their monthly travel allowance has been increased to three thousand rupees. This decision was made under the direction of the Waqf Board's chairperson, Dr. Syed Darakshan Andrabi, reflecting the board's improved financial standing and a commitment to enhancing employees' quality of life.
Increased Salaries: What are the new salary amounts?
Most of the consolidated, muster roll, and stop-gap arrangement employees who have worked for years at the Waqf Board previously received only three thousand rupees per month. Now, under the new order, skilled employees will receive 18,000 rupees, semi-skilled employees 16,000 rupees, and unskilled employees 15,000 rupees per month.
This Waqf Board decision aims to improve the living standards of over a thousand employees in the Kashmir division who have been working on low salaries for decades. According to a Waqf Board official, this change was possible due to improvements in the board's financial situation.
Relief for Pensioners as well
In addition to regular employees, including Imams and Khatibs, a 20 percent increase has been implemented for the salaries and pensions of family pensioners. Furthermore, a 15 percent increase has been granted to the teaching faculty at the BB Halima College of Nursing and Medical Technology. This significant initiative by the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board is expected to improve the social and financial standing of over a thousand regular and irregular employees. The Board has honored the hard work and contributions of its employees through this salary increase.
