Fourteen proposals were passed in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, including the Grassroots Innovation Scheme and promotions for primary school teachers.
Ranchi – A crucial meeting of the state cabinet was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, where a total of 14 proposals were approved. This cabinet meeting not only emphasized administrative reforms but also took far-reaching decisions in the fields of education, employment, health, finance, and technology.
Promotions Approved
Following the meeting, the state government approved promotions for officers of the Lower Education Service Cadre (Primary Branch) to the State Education Service Class-2 (Inspector Branch). This will boost the morale of employees in the education department and enhance administrative efficiency.
Internship Scheme Approved
The state government has approved the Jharkhand Grassroots Innovation Internship Scheme, aimed at connecting youth with innovation and technological skills. This scheme will provide a platform for students and innovators to find solutions to grassroots problems.
Decision to Implement Telecommunication (Right of Way) Rules
The cabinet approved the implementation of the Telecommunication (Right of Way) Rules, 2024, notified by the central government, in the state, which is expected to improve digital connectivity.
VAT Rate Revisions and Tax Reforms
The state government has revised the VAT on High Speed Diesel used in the mining and manufacturing sectors, reducing it from 22% or ₹12.50 per litre to 15%. Additionally, VAT rate revisions on Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) were also approved.
Improved Management of Government Hospitals
To strengthen the management of government hospitals, the cabinet has permitted the issuance of directives to ensure better utilization of claim amounts from insurance schemes, aligning health facilities with Indian Public Health Standards.
Major Decisions Regarding New Recruitments and Vacancies
The government has decided to recruit a total of 8,900 teachers for secondary and higher secondary schools. The creation of 1373 Secondary Acharya positions was also approved. Furthermore, the service tenure of part-time teachers has been extended.
State Finance Commission Report and Funding for Urban Development
The cabinet permitted the presentation of the interim actions and report of the Fifth State Finance Commission to the Legislative Assembly. Approval was also granted for the process of obtaining loans from the National Housing Bank (NHB) for Urban Infrastructure Development Fund (UIDF) schemes.
Approval for Foreign Trip
The state government has permitted a high-level delegation, led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, to visit Spain and Sweden to promote industrial investment.
