Khatu Shyamji Fair Fire: A distressing incident occurred early Tuesday morning at the world-renowned Khatu Shyam Temple in Sikar during the Phalguna Laxmi Fair. A fire broke out at Premanand Mishthan Bhandar, a confectionery shop located on the 75-foot darshan path within the temple complex. The fire completely destroyed all the shop's contents, reducing them to ashes. Reassuringly, the fire department arrived promptly and brought the fire under control, preventing a larger catastrophe.
Fire Breaks Out at 3 AM, Causing Extensive Damage
According to reports, the fire erupted around 3 AM on Tuesday. Upon receiving the news, the Shyam Temple committee's fire engine reached the scene and controlled the blaze. However, the cause of the fire remains unknown.
Panic Amidst the Crowd
The shop where the fire occurred was situated near the main fairground of the Khatu Shyamji Temple complex. Thousands of devotees were present at the fair, causing a brief moment of panic. The swift response of the fire department prevented the fire from spreading, averting a major incident.
Shopkeepers Shut Down Market
Following the incident, opposition has arisen against the administration's decision to close market routes. Local shopkeepers, responding to a call from the Khatudham Business Mandal, have decided to indefinitely shut down the market, potentially impacting business at the fair.
Devotees Flock from Across the Country
Thousands of devotees are visiting Khatu Shyamji from various parts of the country, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Bihar. This year, the administration has extended the fair's duration by 12 days, considering the large crowds. Stringent security measures have been implemented to ensure the devotees' comfort and safety.
