Amidst Protests over Wakf Law in Murshidabad, CM Mamata Banerjee Meets with Imams. She Blames the Central Government and Godi Media for the Violence.
West Bengal: Amidst ongoing protests in Murshidabad concerning the Wakf Law, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee held a crucial meeting with Imams on Tuesday. In this meeting, she leveled serious accusations against the central government, stating that a conspiracy is underway to defame Bengal and that the center is directly responsible for the violence that erupted in Murshidabad. Mamata Banerjee asserted that people are being incited under the pretext of irregularities in the Wakf law.
CM Mamata Banerjee stated, "Intentional irregularities have been committed regarding the Wakf law in some areas of Murshidabad district. The opposition is accusing the TMC of involvement in the violence, but if that were true, our leaders' homes wouldn't be under attack. This is all part of a conspiracy to defame Bengal."
TMC at the Forefront Against Wakf Law in Parliament: Mamata
Mamata Banerjee claimed that the TMC has been the most vocal opponent of the Wakf law in Parliament. She said, "Some BJP-funded media houses are deliberately broadcasting videos from other states like Karnataka, Bihar, UP, and Rajasthan, portraying them as violence from Bengal. We have tracked eight such fake videos. This is a blatant attempt to defame Bengal. They should be ashamed."
Questions for the Center – Attack on Employment, Inflation, and Accountability
CM Mamata Banerjee also questioned the central government on issues of employment and inflation. She said, "Tell me, how many youths have been given jobs? Why is the center silent on the price hikes of medicines, petrol, and diesel? Why do some media channels target only Bengal for defamation?"
She challenged the center to speak openly if they have anything to say, "Not from behind my back. Some media channels associated with the BJP are running a campaign against Bengal by showing fake videos, but we will continue to bring the truth to light."
