Meerut Murder Case: The investigation into the murder of Saurabh Rajput in Indira Nagar, Brahmpuri police station area of Meerut, is progressing rapidly. A crucial turning point came when police summoned Muskaan's parents, Kavita Rastogi and Pramod Rastogi, to the station to record their statements. During questioning, they reiterated the information they had previously provided during the initial investigation. Police sources indicate that statements from other witnesses will be recorded soon, and all necessary formalities are being completed.

Murder Plot with Lover

On the night of March 3rd, Saurabh was brutally murdered by his wife, Muskaan, and her lover, Sahil Shukla. They first drugged Saurabh, rendering him unconscious, before stabbing him to death. Furthermore, they dismembered his body into 15 pieces in the bathroom. The head and both arms were placed in a bag and taken by Sahil to his home. On March 4th, they purchased a blue drum, and disposed of Saurabh’s remains by filling the drum with cement and dust.

Trip to Himachal Pradesh After the Murder

After committing the murder, Muskaan and Sahil, without remorse, went on a sightseeing trip to Shimla, Manali, and Kasauli. They even celebrated Sahil's birthday in Manali. They returned to Meerut on the night of March 17th, and the following day, March 18th, Muskaan informed her father about the murder, leading to the case's exposure.

Confession to Parents

Police recorded statements from Muskaan's parents, Kavita and Pramod Rastogi. They revealed that on the morning of March 18th, Muskaan initially fabricated a story. However, when her parents became suspicious and pressed her to go to the police station, she confessed to the murder. Muskaan initially blamed Saurabh's brother and mother but eventually admitted her guilt.

Ramayana and Reform Efforts in Jail

Currently, both Muskaan and Sahil are in jail. Muskaan is reciting the Sundarkand and undergoing tailoring training. Sahil is reading the Ramayana and assisting in vegetable cultivation within the jail premises. However, Muskaan is still desperate to meet Sahil and has repeatedly applied, but jail regulations prevent them from meeting.

Saurabh's mother, Renu Devi, has demanded that Muskaan and Sahil be transferred to separate jails to prevent any mental solace and ensure an impartial legal process. Jail authorities state that meetings are permitted only according to the regulations.

Treatment at a Drug Rehabilitation Center

Jail Superintendent Dr. Virendra Raj Sharma stated that treatment for both accused continues. Experts are being consulted to help them overcome their drug addiction. Saurabh, who had returned from London, came to India to celebrate his wife's birthday. Muskaan's birthday was on February 25th, and their daughter Pihu's on February 28th. However, amidst these celebrations, Muskaan and Sahil plotted a chilling plan, culminating in Saurabh's murder on the night of March 3rd and the subsequent disposal of his dismembered body in a sealed drum.

SP City Ayush Vikram Singh stated that Saurabh was an obstacle in Muskaan and Sahil's relationship, and he was murdered with such brutality to eliminate him. Muskaan had begun preparations beforehand – attempting to weaken Saurabh by adding sleeping pills to his alcohol and eventually using spiked food to carry out the crime.
