Uttar Pradesh: Panic ensued in Kaushambi district when a school bus carrying students home from school was engulfed in flames. Upon noticing smoke emanating from the bus, the driver immediately stopped the vehicle and, with the help of the conductor and local residents, safely evacuated all students. Locals struggled to control the fire, but the bus was completely destroyed. Fortunately, the driver and conductor's alertness and quick thinking averted a major tragedy.

Driver and Conductor's Bravery Saves 40 Lives

The incident occurred at the main intersection in the Manjhanpur police station area. The BP Public School bus was returning students home when smoke began to billow from the vehicle. The fire quickly spread, causing panic among the students. Seeing the smoke, the driver immediately stopped the bus and, along with the conductor, began evacuating the students. While the terrified children screamed, the driver and conductor calmly and efficiently ensured everyone's safe exit.

Nearby residents rushed to help as soon as the fire started. Police officers at the intersection immediately contacted the fire brigade. However, locals managed to bring the fire under control before the fire department arrived.

Short Circuit Suspected as Cause of Accident

Preliminary investigations suggest a short circuit may have caused the fire. Reassuringly, no students were injured, and all were safely evacuated in time. Following the incident, the administration has ordered a safety check of all school buses. Parents have expressed concerns about the regular maintenance and safety measures of these buses.
