Justice Suryakant asserted, "The institution faces attacks every day, but we are not concerned." This comment was made in the context of the political reactions following the Supreme Court's landmark decision setting a timeframe for the President and Governors to approve bills.

The Supreme Court recently ruled that the President and Governors should not engage in "unnecessary delays" in approving bills. This decision sparked considerable commotion in political circles, with several leaders questioning the Supreme Court's role.

Vice President Dhankhar's Sharp Remarks

India's Vice President, Jagdeep Dhankhar, commented on the Supreme Court's powers. He described the Court's power under Article 142 as a "nuclear missile" and stated that "directing the President is not appropriate." He also asserted that Parliament is supreme and no other authority can supersede it.

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey also questioned the CJI and the Court's functioning. He argued that the Supreme Court's decisions during the Wakf Act hearing could exacerbate religious tensions in society. He went so far as to suggest that if every matter requires Supreme Court intervention, "Parliament and the State Assemblies should be shut down."
