Waqf Bill: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has described the Waqf Amendment Bill, passed in Parliament, as a significant step towards transparency, justice, and safeguarding the constitutional rights of all citizens.
He stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the central government is continuously striving to strengthen good governance and judicial reforms. The objective of this bill is to establish complete transparency, legal clarity, and judicial balance in the management of Waqf properties.
Safeguarding the Rights of All
The Chief Minister asserted that this bill is not against any particular community but is aimed at protecting the rights of all citizens. Its implementation will curb false and illegal claims and enable the impartial resolution of land and property disputes. It will also ensure that Waqf properties are not misused and are utilized for the broader benefit of society.
Satpal Maharaj Extends Congratulations
Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on the passage of the Waqf Amendment Bill in Parliament. He stated that the central government has taken a major step in the interest of Muslims.
Benefits for the Disadvantaged
The government will now introduce schemes for the development of the underprivileged sections of the Muslim community, including women and children. He also mentioned that the Waqf Board had become the fiefdom of a few individuals, with Waqf land being sold in collusion with mafias, and operations not being conducted according to Waqf regulations. He stated that the implementation of the amended Waqf law will bring transparency to the management of Waqf properties and foster a sense of responsibility.
