Maha Kumbh 2025: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a review meeting on the night of February 10th regarding the preparations for Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj. He also noted the absence of several senior officials during the major bathing festival of Maha Kumbh, which exacerbated the situation. Taking this negligence seriously, the CM hinted at the suspension of several officials.
Lack of Coordination Between DIG and Mela Officer Raises CM's Ire
The Chief Minister also expressed displeasure over the lack of coordination between DIG Mela Vaibhav Krishna and Mela Officer Vijay Kiran Anand. Sources suggest that CM Yogi gave strict instructions that any further negligence would not be tolerated. He unequivocally stated that if officials fail to perform their duties properly, major administrative action will follow after the Kumbh.

According to sources, UP DGP Prashant Kumar has submitted a complete report on the negligent officials to CM Yogi. Based on this report, several officials may face suspension and transfer after the Kumbh. Additionally, departmental inquiries may be initiated against some officials.
