Fluctuating Weather Patterns Across North India: Delhi's Chill, Warmer Trends Elsewhere

Early March is witnessing fluctuating weather patterns across many parts of North India. While Delhi-NCR is experiencing a drop in minimum temperatures, hints of warmer weather are emerging in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

Weather Update: Significant weather changes are occurring in many parts of North India at the start of March. Delhi-NCR has seen a decrease in minimum temperatures, while Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are showing signs of warmer weather. Rajasthan is experiencing varied weather conditions. Kashmir has seen rainfall and snowfall, while the possibility of rain remains in Uttarakhand.

Decline in Delhi's Minimum Temperature

Delhi-NCR has seen a consistent decrease in minimum temperatures over the past few days. On Monday, the minimum temperature recorded was 9.6 degrees Celsius, 3.8 degrees below normal. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), b winds, blowing at 20-30 km per hour, are expected over the next two days, maintaining a slight chill. The maximum temperature will hover around 29 degrees. The Air Quality Index (AQI) in the capital was recorded at 124, categorized as 'moderate'.

Warm Days, Cool Nights in Uttar Pradesh

Daytime temperatures are steadily rising in Uttar Pradesh. However, a mild chill persists at night. According to the meteorological center, there is no prediction of rain in the state for the coming week. Winds of 30 km per hour are expected on March 5th and 6th. Daytime temperatures in many cities, including Lucknow, Kanpur, and Varanasi, may reach 30-32 degrees Celsius.

Hints of Warmer Weather in Bihar

After recent light rain and cool winds, Bihar is now experiencing hints of warmer weather. There are concerns about the possibility of heat waves in Buxar, Rohtas, Aurangabad, and Arwal districts from mid-March onwards. According to IMD Patna, the maximum temperature will range from 30 to 32 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature from 14 to 16 degrees Celsius until March 5th. A slight decrease is expected on March 6th and 7th, but temperatures will rise afterward.

More Rain in Rajasthan?

Temperatures in Rajasthan decreased due to rain and snowfall over the past few days, but the weather has now cleared. According to the Jaipur Meteorological Center, temperatures may drop by 2-4 degrees due to northerly winds on March 4th and 5th. Minimum temperatures in Bikaner, Jodhpur, and Shekhawati regions may range from 8 to 10 degrees. However, temperatures are expected to increase again after March 7th.

Rain and Snowfall in Kashmir

Many areas in Kashmir reported rain in the past 24 hours, with snowfall in higher altitudes. This resulted in a drop in temperatures. The meteorological department reported fresh snowfall in Pahalgam, Gulmarg, and Sonmarg in South Kashmir. Snowfall is also continuing in Kargil and Drass in Ladakh. Meanwhile, a prediction of rain and snowfall has been issued for Uttarakhand in the next 24 hours. A yellow alert for snowfall has been issued for Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, and Chamoli.

According to weather forecasts, temperature fluctuations will continue across most of North India for the next few days. Delhi and Uttar Pradesh might experience a mild chill, while Bihar and Rajasthan will see a gradual temperature increase. Hilly states are likely to experience continued coolness due to snowfall and rainfall.
