The Pakistan cricket team recently concluded a five-match T20 series in New Zealand, suffering a 1-4 defeat. They now face a three-match ODI series, aiming for a victory.

Sports News: A significant change has been made to the Pakistan squad ahead of the three-match ODI series against New Zealand, starting March 29th. Fast bowler Haris Rauf has been recalled to the ODI squad. Initially omitted, his impressive performance in the T20 series has earned him a second chance.

Haris Rauf's Strong T20 Series Performance

Haris Rauf was initially excluded from the ODI team due to a disappointing performance in the 2025 Champions Trophy. However, his outstanding seven-wicket haul in the T20 series against New Zealand impressed the selectors, leading to his recall.

According to PCB sources, chief selector Aqib Javed not only recommended Rauf's inclusion but also requested the addition of an extra wicketkeeper-batsman to the team.

Rauf's Effectiveness Overseas

Haris Rauf's bowling is particularly effective on foreign pitches. In the previous ODI series against Australia, he took 10 wickets, playing a crucial role in Pakistan's 3-0 series victory. His skills could prove invaluable on New Zealand's fast wickets.

Haris Rauf debuted in ODI cricket in 2020 and has since taken 85 wickets in 48 ODIs. He has also claimed 118 wickets in T20 internationals and one in Test cricket for Pakistan.

Complete Schedule: Pakistan vs. New Zealand ODI Series

Third ODI: April 5th, Mount Maunganui

After a resounding 1-4 defeat in the T20 series, Pakistan will be looking for a b comeback in the ODI series. Haris Rauf's return will significantly bolster their bowling attack.
