Many years ago, there was a city called Magadh. Near it lay a dense forest, home to a large herd of deer. The king of the deer had two sons; one named Lakkhan and the other Kala. When the king grew very old, he declared his two sons as his successors. Each received 500 deer. A few days after Lakkhan and Kala became heirs, the time came for the Magadh villagers to harvest their crops. So, the farmers placed various barriers around their fields to protect the crops from wild animals. They also began constructing ditches. Hearing this news, the deer king instructed both his sons to lead their respective herds to a remote, safe mountainous region.
Upon hearing his father's words, Kala immediately led his herd towards the mountains. He didn't consider the possibility of people hunting them during the day, and that's exactly what happened. Many deer from Kala's herd fell victim to hunters along the way. Lakkhan, however, was a wise deer. He decided to lead his herd towards the mountains under the cover of darkness, and all of them safely reached the mountaintop. Months later, when the crops were harvested, Lakkhan and Kala returned to the forest. The king saw that Lakkhan's herd was intact, while Kala's had significantly fewer deer. This revealed Lakkhan's intelligence, which everyone praised.
This story teaches us that - one should think many times before undertaking any task, and only then should one proceed. This always leads to success.
