A Famous and Inspiring Story: The Frog and the Mouse
Long ago, in a dense forest, there was a small pond. A frog lived in it. He longed for a friend. One day, a mouse emerged from beneath a tree near the pond. Seeing the frog's sad demeanor, the mouse asked, "Friend, what troubles you? You seem very down." The frog replied, "I have no friend with whom I can share my joys and sorrows." Hearing this, the mouse exclaimed, "From today, consider me your friend! I will be with you always!" The frog was overjoyed.
Friendship blossomed, and the two spent hours conversing. The frog would leave the pond and visit the mouse's burrow beneath the tree, or they would sit outside the pond and chat. Their friendship deepened with each passing day. The mouse and the frog often shared their thoughts and feelings. After a few days, the frog reflected, "I often visit the mouse's burrow, but he never comes to my pond." This thought sparked an idea.
The clever frog said to the mouse, "Friend, our friendship has grown very b. Now we should do something that will always remind us of each other." The mouse agreed, "Yes, but what shall we do?" The cunning frog swiftly declared, "Let's tie your tail to my leg with a rope. Whenever we miss each other, we can pull, and that will tell us." The naive mouse, unaware of the frog's deceit, readily agreed. The frog quickly tied the mouse's tail to his leg. Then, he leaped into the water. The frog was pleased with his scheme. But the mouse, who lived on land, was now in grave danger.
After struggling for a while, the mouse perished. A hawk, soaring high above, witnessed this entire scene. Spotting the mouse in the water, the hawk swiftly grabbed it and flew away. The deceitful frog was tied to the mouse, and was also caught in the hawk's grasp. The frog, initially confused, realized he was flying. Looking up, he saw the hawk and was terrified. He begged God for his life, but along with the mouse, the hawk also devoured him.
The moral of this story is: Those who seek to harm others ultimately suffer themselves. As you sow, so shall you reap. Therefore, children, one should not befriend deceitful people and should not blindly agree with everyone, but should instead use their own judgment.
