The operation of 50 electric buses from Gaya is set to begin soon, aiming to improve connectivity with Patna. The initiative also includes provisions for women-specific “Pink Bus” services, with preparations reviewed in a recent meeting.

Fifty electric buses will soon be deployed from Gaya to facilitate travel to and from Patna. The initiative focuses on environmental considerations while addressing passenger convenience and safety.

With the introduction of these buses, travel to Patna is expected to become easier, more comfortable, and cost-effective compared to existing options. The buses will be equipped with comfortable seating, improved ventilation, and digital ticketing facilities.

As part of the plan, “Pink Bus” services are being arranged to cater specifically to women, offering dedicated facilities to enhance safety and convenience during travel.

A recent review meeting was held to assess preparations for the project, attended by the Assembly Speaker and several senior officials. Discussions covered operational plans, route mapping, charging infrastructure, and passenger facilities.

Officials stated that dedicated charging stations are being developed for the electric buses to ensure uninterrupted operations. Bus stops and terminals are also being upgraded with modern amenities.

The deployment of electric buses is expected to contribute to reduced pollution levels and lower dependence on diesel and petrol.

Local residents have welcomed the initiative, stating that it will benefit a large number of commuters traveling between Gaya and Patna, particularly daily passengers.

The project is also expected to generate employment opportunities for local residents in areas such as bus operations, maintenance, and associated services.

Work on the project is progressing, and the buses are expected to begin operations soon, contributing to improvements in the state’s transport infrastructure.
