Eight trainee doctors were injured after a speeding Thar lost control and overturned on the Mandi–Pathankot Highway in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi. Three injured doctors were referred to Palampur for further treatment, while five were discharged after primary treatment and medical examination. No deaths were reported.
The accident occurred when the Thar carrying the trainee doctors overturned on the highway. Local people reached the spot, helped remove the injured from the vehicle and informed the police and ambulance services.
All eight injured trainee doctors were taken to a hospital for treatment. The medical team examined their injuries and assessed their condition. Three doctors were referred to Palampur for further treatment, while five were discharged after receiving primary treatment and undergoing medical examination.
The trainee doctors involved in the accident were reportedly from different places, including Mandi, Kangra, Shimla and Una. They were travelling for work when the accident occurred on the highway.
Traffic movement on the highway was affected for some time after the accident. The overturned Thar remained on the road, attracting a crowd of motorists and local residents. People began rescue efforts before the police arrived and helped take those trapped inside the vehicle out.
