Bahraich: Now, those getting corrections made to their Aadhaar cards in Bahraich will have to pay higher fees. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has increased the fee for Aadhaar corrections/modifications by ₹25 starting October 1.

What has changed?

Previously, the correction fee was ₹100, which has now been increased to ₹125.

The fee for demographic corrections such as name, date of birth, etc., has been increased from ₹50 to ₹75.

The fee for KYC (mobile/email updates, etc.) has also been set at ₹75.

The fee for downloading an Aadhaar card if it is lost has been increased from ₹30 to ₹40.

If a person opts for "home service," the fee is fixed at ₹700 — this has remained unchanged.

Other Information and Suggestions

Obtaining a new Aadhaar card is still free — fees have only increased for corrections and updates. UIDAI states that if your Aadhaar is more than 10 years old, it should be updated promptly because photos and biometric details can change over time. In Bahraich's Head Post Office, 80–100 Aadhaar cards are being processed daily. However, the number of corrections has decreased compared to before.
