The city's maximum temperature was recorded at approximately 34 degrees Celsius, lower than in recent days. The Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms, rainfall throughout the day, and the possibility of lightning at isolated locations.
Rainfall has reduced the impact of heat across the city, while cool winds have made weather conditions more pleasant. However, waterlogging was reported in several low-lying areas, causing inconvenience to commuters. People travelling to offices, schools, and colleges during the morning were required to exercise additional caution due to the rain.
According to the Meteorological Department, monsoon conditions are expected to remain active in Aligarh and surrounding areas over the next four days. During this period, intermittent light to moderate rainfall, b winds, and thunderstorms are likely. Heavy rainfall may also occur at some locations.
Experts have advised people to avoid open fields, tall trees, and electric poles during thunderstorms. They have also recommended avoiding unnecessary travel during adverse weather conditions and monitoring the latest updates issued by the Meteorological Department.
The rainfall is also expected to provide relief for farmers. The prevailing weather conditions are considered favourable for paddy, maize, and other kharif crops. However, farmers have been advised to ensure proper drainage in fields in the event of excessive rainfall to prevent crop damage.
Health experts have urged people to take precautions in view of the sudden change in weather. They have advised changing into dry clothes immediately after getting wet in the rain, using clean drinking water, and maintaining proper hygiene to reduce the risk of viral infections.
The administration has directed the concerned departments to monitor waterlogged areas and initiate immediate relief measures if required. Authorities are also maintaining continuous surveillance of electricity supply and drainage systems.
Monsoon conditions are currently evident across Aligarh. If the Meteorological Department's forecast proves accurate, rainfall may continue across the city and adjoining areas over the next four days, keeping temperatures near normal and providing continued relief from the heat.
