The All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Wednesday requested legal advisors of the apex sports body and ISL clubs to discuss the teams' concerns regarding the upcoming season.
Sports News: Uncertainty surrounding the Indian Super League (ISL) 2025 is increasing, and in the meantime, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) has called all concerned parties to a high-level meeting. Legal advisors of the ISL clubs and the federation will be present at the meeting to openly discuss the league's upcoming season and the current situation.
Clubs' Concerns and AIFF's Response
Last week, 11 ISL clubs sent a letter to the AIFF requesting that the league's future and the current state of Indian football arising from the uncertainty be brought to the attention of the Supreme Court. The clubs clarified that if the federation does not take any action on their request, they will have no option but to independently seek judicial assistance.
The AIFF acknowledged the letter, receiving it on Friday, August 8, 2025. Subsequently, on August 13, 2025, the federation responded and invited the clubs and legal advisors to a meeting. The AIFF shared this information in a tweet, stating:
'The AIFF received a letter on August 8, 2025, from 11 Indian Super League clubs, collectively requesting to inform the Supreme Court of the current uncertainty surrounding the ISL. On August 13, the AIFF responded and requested that the clubs and the federation's legal advisors discuss the matter and decide on further action.'

The ISL clubs' concern mainly revolves around pending matters related to the national federation's constitution.
