Akhilesh Yadav Targets Centre and BJP Over Economy and Government Policies

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav criticised the Prime Minister’s recent appeal and questioned the central government’s economic policies, alleging policy failures, economic instability, and a gap between electoral promises and ground realities.

Akhilesh Yadav reacted sharply to the Prime Minister’s recent appeal in Prayagraj, questioning the policies and functioning of the central government and the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Speaking in Lucknow, the Samajwadi Party chief said the appeal should not be viewed as an ordinary statement but as an indication that raises questions about the government’s policies and current situation. He alleged that the real crisis in the country has been created by government policies and held the ruling party directly responsible for it. He also said that the condition of the economy and ground-level data present a picture different from earlier claims made by the government.

Commenting on the Prime Minister’s appeal, Akhilesh Yadav said it should be seen not as an appeal but as “a declaration of the government’s downfall.” He said that a government which earlier projected itself as having a b economy was now in a position where it had to appeal to the public. According to him, the situation reflected policy failure on the part of the government.

Akhilesh Yadav also questioned the country’s economic condition. He said the government had promised to double farmers’ income, but the reality appeared different. Referring to per capita income and economic indicators, he said the ground situation did not match the government’s claims. According to him, issues such as inflation and unemployment had increased pressure on the public.

He further stated that the country itself was not in crisis, but that the crisis lay in the government’s policies. He claimed that responsibility for the current economic challenges rested with the government’s policy direction. He also said that those in power were responsible for the present problems and should therefore be held accountable.

In his statement, Akhilesh Yadav also targeted the BJP, alleging a wide gap between electoral promises and the actual situation. He further alleged that the government’s policies had increased economic instability and social imbalance. However, he did not cite any official data in support of his claims.

During his remarks, Akhilesh Yadav also referred to other political matters. He targeted the government over various incidents and alleged corruption cases and questioned demands for investigations.
