Alwar's Mini Secretariat received a bomb threat. The administration evacuated the building citing security reasons. This is the third such threat received in the past 6 months. Police are conducting an intensive investigation.
Alwar: The administration in Rajasthan's Alwar district was thrown into a state of panic on Monday after receiving a threat to bomb the Mini Secretariat. The threatening email was sent to the District Collector's email ID. The mail clearly stated that the Mini Secretariat would be bombed on September 8.
Upon receiving the mail, the administration immediately swung into action. All employees and individuals present were safely evacuated from the secretariat. Teams from the police and security agencies reached the spot and commenced a thorough inspection of the secretariat premises. Officials completely sealed the complex and did not allow anyone entry.
Third Threat in 6 Months
This is the third instance of a threat being issued to the Alwar Mini Secretariat in the last six months. Prior to this, the administration had received threatening emails on April 15 and May 14. However, in both those incidents, no suspect was identified, and no actual attack occurred.
The situation this time is considered more serious as the threat explicitly mentions a date. The administration has enhanced security measures in response and is monitoring all sensitive areas. Officials stated that considering the gravity of the threat, the decision was made to keep all employees and the general public away from the premises.
Threat Came from Email ID 'Mubeen Sahoo'
This time, the threat was sent from an email ID named Mubeen Sahoo. ADM Bina Mahawar informed that this mail was not sent from within the district but from outside. Initial investigations revealed that the mail originated from Coimbatore in Chennai.
The language and style of the mail also suggest that it was not sent by a local individual. The administration has stated that efforts are underway to identify the perpetrator by tracing all digital fingerprints and servers. The police have begun a comprehensive search of the entire secretariat complex, and security has been increased in the surrounding areas.
Security Increased Outside Alwar Mini Secretariat
Following the threat, stringent security arrangements have been put in place around the Alwar Mini Secretariat. Police have erected barricades around the complex and increased surveillance through CCTV cameras. All employees and visitors were evacuated under emergency exit protocols.
Security agencies have initiated a search for explosives throughout the premises. Additionally, patrolling has been intensified on nearby routes and roads. The administration has also appealed to citizens to immediately report any suspicious activity near the secretariat to the police.
Cyber and Forensic Teams Begin Technical Investigation of Threatening Email
The cyber cell of the police has also commenced an investigation into the threatening email. The email's headers, IP address, and other digital traces are being studied. The forensic team is working to identify the actual location and sender of the email.
ADM Bina Mahawar stated that this threat is being taken seriously, and no lapse will be tolerated. Along with increasing security, efforts are ongoing to apprehend the culprit swiftly through technical investigation.
Government Employees and Departments Alerted
All government departments have also been put on alert. Employees have been instructed to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the administration immediately. All officers working within the secretariat are currently working from home, and no staff are present on the premises except for emergency services.
The police stated that security levels have been raised throughout the city in view of the continuous threats over the past six months. The Alwar administration has also advised citizens to remain alert and immediately report any suspicious person or object to the authorities.
