A tragic accident in the Hasanpur police station area of Amroha on Friday morning plunged the entire region into mourning. A high-speed school van collided head-on with a pickup vehicle near Manauta village on the Gajraula-Hasanpur road. The accident resulted in the immediate death of an innocent student, while 15 other students and three female teachers were seriously injured. At the time of the accident, the school van was carrying children to IBS Public School in Sahasauli.
The collision was so severe that the van was completely wrecked, and cries of distress filled the air. Local residents and passersby promptly initiated rescue efforts and informed the police. Police arrived at the scene shortly after and extracted all the injured from the van, initially transporting them to Hasanpur CHC. Due to the critical condition of the injured, they were referred to a higher medical center in Amroha.
High Speed and Negligence of the Van Caused the Accident
According to eyewitnesses, the school van was traveling at high speed and driving on the wrong side of the road. Furthermore, the Maruti van transporting the children did not have the school's name or any identification marked on it, exposing a serious lapse in oversight by the school management. Currently, the police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
A wave of grief has swept through the entire area following the accident. The cries of innocent children, scattered notebooks, and torn bags – everything was a testament to the horror of the accident. Local residents and school staff were engaged in rescuing the children. Employees of HSS Public School also played a significant role in the relief efforts at the scene.
Families Devastated with Grief
The injured students and teachers are currently receiving treatment at a medical center in Amroha. Families of the injured children are praying for their speedy recovery at the hospital. Meanwhile, a pall of gloom has descended upon the home of the deceased student. The family members are inconsolable, and neighbors are also immersed in sorrow.
This incident once again raises questions about the negligence towards school vans and private transportation. If regular vehicle inspections and safety standards were followed, perhaps this fatal accident could have been avoided.
The Amroha district administration is monitoring the situation and ensuring that all possible medical assistance is provided to the injured. This accident has become a painful memory for the entire district, leaving deep wounds on innocent lives.
