Aniruddhacharya, a renowned storyteller from Vrindavan, is once again embroiled in controversy. A video circulating on social media shows him making objectionable remarks about women, sparking outrage. In the video, Aniruddhacharya can be seen saying, "Earlier, girls were married off at the age of 14, so they easily integrated into the family. But now, when 25-year-old girls come into the house, they have already been intimate with someone." This statement has drawn sharp reactions from the public, who have labeled it highly indecent and anti-women.
Strong Reaction from Women Advocates
In response to this controversial statement, women advocates in Mathura have launched a protest. They have submitted a written complaint to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shlok Kumar, demanding legal action against the storyteller. The advocates argue that such comments hurt the dignity of women and spread a negative message in society. They also allege that the misuse of a religious platform in this manner is a matter of serious concern.
Previously Been in Controversies Regarding Old Statements
This statement by Aniruddhacharya is not new; it is reported that this video is somewhat old but has recently gone viral. As soon as the women advocates noticed it, a meeting was called on Thursday, and immediate action was demanded. Meanwhile, the Mathura Bar Association has also come out in support of the women advocates. Association President Pradeep Sharma described the statement as highly objectionable and said that strict action should be taken against such saints.
It is noteworthy that this is not the first time Aniruddhacharya has been embroiled in controversies over his statements. Previously, he has been accused of making objectionable remarks about God and women. Now, once again, his statement has landed him in legal trouble, and the opposition from women lawyers is intensifying.
