Anshula Kapoor Considered Herself Guilty
In a conversation with "The Quint," Anshula Kapoor shared that her parents separated when she was only 5-6 years old. At such a young age, she couldn't comprehend the situation. She said, "For many years, I felt that my parents' relationship didn't work out because of me. I used to think that I was the real reason for their separation. For a six-year-old child, this burden was immense."
She further explained that over time, her mother, Mona Shourie, made her understand that relationships are between two people, and a child can never be the cause of their separation.
Societal Behavior Eroded Anshula's Confidence
Anshula shared that after her parents' separation, not only did her inner world change, but she also noticed a shift in people's attitudes in society. She said, "I don't remember a single moment in my life when I didn't have to pick myself up. When I used to go into a group as a child, people would suddenly go quiet. Some people even avoided talking to me. The aunties around often stared at me. All of this made me feel even more alone."
She also mentioned that this entire experience made her resilient and b, but it also made her a bit guarded and lonely from within. Remembering her mother in the interview, Anshula said that if her mother hadn't been in her life, she probably wouldn't have become so b. "My mother was my biggest strength. She gave me confidence and the courage to face life's challenges. I always say she was the wind beneath my wings. Truly, she was my backbone."
