Aryaveer Sehwag, Son of Cricket Legend, Makes Delhi Premier League Debut

Aryaveer Sehwag, son of former explosive Indian opener Virender Sehwag, has made his debut in the Delhi Premier League. He is playing for Central Delhi Kings. After being benched for several consecutive matches, he got an opportunity in the league's 39th match.

Sports News: Aryaveer Sehwag, son of Virender Sehwag, who was one of the most explosive openers in Indian cricket history, has debuted in the Delhi Premier League (DPL 2025). The 17-year-old Aryaveer, playing for Central Delhi Kings against East Delhi Riders at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, opened the innings and caught everyone's attention with his short but aggressive performance.

After being benched for several matches in a row, he finally got a chance in the 39th match of the league. In his debut match, Aryaveer scored 22 runs off 16 balls, including 4 attractive fours. Watching his batting, the spectators were reminded of his father, Virender Sehwag.

Strong batting against Navdeep Saini

The innings for East Delhi Riders was started by Indian fast bowler Navdeep Saini, who is known for bowling at speeds of over 150 km/h. Despite this, Aryaveer showed confidence against him and hit two consecutive fours in the third over. Both fours were played with excellent timing in the extra cover direction.

After this, in the fourth over, he hit two more consecutive fours off Raunaq Waghela's ball. However, he was dismissed in the same over. He tried to play a shot off Raunaq's ball, but Mayank Rawat took his catch, ending his innings.

Virender Sehwag was famous in his career for his tremendous batting on the off-side. Aryaveer also replicated the same style in his debut. Three of his four fours came on the off-side. Both fours on Navdeep Saini's ball were in the extra cover direction, while he scored the third four with a brilliant cut shot.
