Axis Direct flags Aurobindo Pharma and Great Eastern Shipping for 10–15 percent upside Indian Bank seen with downside risk

Axis Direct identifies Aurobindo Pharma and Great Eastern Shipping as potential short term gainers with 10–15 percent upside while indicating downside risk of 9–11 percent in Indian Bank based on technical indicators.

Axis Direct has identified two stocks with potential upside over the short term while flagging downside risk in another, according to its latest brokerage report.

The brokerage stated that Aurobindo Pharma and Great Eastern Shipping could deliver returns of 10–15% over the next three to four weeks, while Indian Bank may remain under pressure with potential downside.

Market Volatility Continues Amid Mixed Trends

Equity markets have remained volatile in recent sessions, with alternating phases of decline and recovery. On Tuesday, indices opened higher and traded in positive territory, following recent declines. The rebound provided some relief to investors after the recent correction.

In such a market environment, identifying suitable investment opportunities remains a key challenge for participants. Brokerage firms continue to highlight stock-specific opportunities based on technical and market indicators.

Axis Direct, in its report, outlined two stocks that may witness upward movement in the coming three to four weeks, while cautioning on one stock that continues to exhibit downside risk.

Aurobindo Pharma Shows Technical Breakout

According to the brokerage, Aurobindo Pharma has undergone a notable technical shift in recent sessions. The stock has crossed a key level that had acted as resistance for several months.

A sustained move above such levels is generally interpreted in technical analysis as a positive signal. Following this breakout, the stock has witnessed increased buying activity.

The brokerage noted that the stock is currently trading above its key moving averages, which typically indicates the formation of an uptrend. It expects the upward movement to continue over the next few weeks.

As per the report, Aurobindo Pharma could move towards levels of Rs 1,414 to Rs 1,455 over the next three to four weeks. Based on the current price, the brokerage estimates a potential return of approximately 12–15%.

Great Eastern Shipping Maintains Uptrend

Axis Direct also highlighted Great Eastern Shipping as another stock demonstrating sustained strength. The stock has been forming higher highs and higher lows on the charts, a pattern associated with a continuing uptrend.

The stock has also recently crossed a significant resistance level, which is typically seen as an indication of further potential upside.

The brokerage stated that market participation in the stock is gradually increasing, which may lead to further buying interest.

According to the report, Great Eastern Shipping could reach levels of Rs 1,529 to Rs 1,555 in the coming weeks. This implies a potential return of approximately 10–12% from current levels.

Indian Bank Indicates Continued Downside Risk

In contrast, Axis Direct noted that Indian Bank continues to exhibit a weak trend. The stock has recently broken a key support level, which in technical analysis is generally interpreted as a bearish signal.

Multiple technical indicators are also pointing towards continued weakness in the stock, according to the report.

The brokerage estimates that Indian Bank could decline towards levels of Rs 818 to Rs 800 in the near term. This suggests a downside risk of approximately 9–11% from current levels.

Stock Selection Remains Critical in Volatile Markets

The report noted that investment decisions based solely on broader market direction may not be effective in volatile conditions. Stocks can perform differently irrespective of overall market trends.

It highlighted the importance of evaluating company-specific factors, technical indicators, and prevailing market trends while making investment decisions. Brokerage reports provide insights into potential trends, while final investment decisions require careful consideration.
