Ayodhya – The religious city is no longer solely a center for pilgrims; it is rapidly being transformed into a modern, development-focused, and smart city. Under the state government’s “Master Plan 2031,” a framework for multi-layered development projects is being prepared, marking significant steps towards establishing अयोध्या as a world-class tourism and religious center.
According to the Master Plan, the inhabited areas of अयोध्या, along with surrounding regions, are receiving phased development. The land use plan outlines a balanced allocation for residential, commercial, industrial, public use, transportation, and green areas.
Emphasis is being placed on smart city features, including new residential townships, modern gates, multi-level parking, clean water, waste management, road and traffic management, alongside other amenities.
Expansion of अयोध्या’s roads, outer ring roads, expressways, and transportation facilities will facilitate easier access for both pilgrims and tourists.
Alongside modernizing the railway station, bus, and transportation systems, preparations are underway for air routes (where applicable) and logistical networks.
Numerous new projects have been approved to boost tourism, with religious sites, surrounding zones, pilgrimage routes, cultural, and historical heritage sites being reimagined and presented in a new light.
Furthermore, efforts are being made to develop अयोध्या as a “green and clean” city, focusing on green areas, environmentally friendly initiatives, and sanitation systems.
These large-scale development projects are expected to create employment opportunities for local residents, spanning construction, tourism, the service sector, and hotel-hospitality, generating numerous new jobs.
With the development of tourism-based economic activities and urban facilities, there is a potential for improvement in अयोध्या’s economic landscape and sustainable development prospects.
