Road projects worth ₹2451.85 crore approved in Ayodhya. These will include the upgrading of major routes, railway overbridges, and the construction of rural roads. CM Yogi made the decision in a review meeting.

UP News: The Uttar Pradesh government has taken a major initiative to give new momentum to the development of Ayodhya. In a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, road projects worth a total of ₹2451.85 crore were approved for the Ayodhya assembly constituency. This meeting was held on July 26, 2025, with the legislators of Ayodhya and Devipatan divisions, in which the Chief Minister reviewed all the proposals and also gave several important instructions.

Plans for Upgrading and Expanding Roads

Following the government's approval, several major roads in Ayodhya will now be upgraded and expanded. These projects will focus on improving traffic management and providing smooth movement for pilgrims. The proposed work will begin in the current financial year, so that the public can benefit quickly.

New Connectivity Network from Tedhi Bazaar to Asharfi Bhavan

In the direction of road upgrades, the first major project will be the Tedhi Bazaar-Asharfi Bhavan-Post Office route, which will be developed at a cost of ₹124.09 crore. In addition, the Ranopali-Vidyakund-Darshan Nagar-Bharatkund route will get a new look at a cost of ₹1156 crore. Apart from these routes, the roads from Kanak Bhavan to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi, Tridandi Dev Bhavan Marg, and NH-27 to Ramghat-Digambar Akhara will also be improved.

The route from Asharfi Bhavan to Gola Ghat will also be widened

Considering the traffic pressure in Ayodhya, the service lane of the Mohbra-Tedhi Bazaar overbridge and the roads from Asharfi Bhavan to Gola Ghat will also be widened. This will provide relief from traffic jams to the passengers and better facilities to the local residents.

Ayodhya Cantt area roads will also get a new identity

The government's plan also includes the names of several important roads in the Ayodhya Cantt area. These include Devkali-Jail Road, Rikabganj-Fatehganj, Rikabganj-Chowk, Reedganj-Gulabwadi, and Machhli Mandi-Jamthara Ghat Marg. The construction of a four-lane road from Niawan Patheshwari Temple to Post Office Rampath is also a part of this plan.

Railway Overbridges and New Access Roads Will Facilitate Movement

To make traffic smoother, three new railway overbridges will also be built. These overbridges will be constructed in Banbirpur, Suryakund, and Halkara ka Purwa areas. Apart from this, an access road will be constructed at a cost of ₹273 crore to build a new bridge parallel to the old Saryu bridge, which will make movement easier.

Priority to Road Construction in Rural Areas as Well

Not limiting Ayodhya's development to urban areas, the government has decided to strengthen the road network in rural areas as well. Under this, the construction of 10 new rural roads is proposed, which will improve the connectivity of the villages and the local people will get direct benefit.

Chief Minister Gave Important Role to Public Representatives

In the meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave clear instructions to the officials that the participation of public representatives should be ensured in the review of the development projects being carried out in the municipal corporation and body areas. He said that priority should be given to the proposals of the MLAs in all the works being done at the ward level, so that plans can be made according to the needs of the public.

The CM also announced that all the district headquarters of the state will be connected by four-lane roads and the block headquarters will be connected by two-lane roads. This will not only increase the speed of traffic, but will also strengthen administrative and social connectivity.

Pilgrim city Ayodhya will get a world-class road network

These road projects approved for Ayodhya will not only improve the lives of the local people, but will also give a convenient travel experience to the devotees coming from the country and abroad. This will help in establishing Ayodhya as a smart, well-organized and modern pilgrim city.
