A tragic incident caused a sensation across Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, on Thursday. The body of seven-year-old Saheb Alam, son of Mukarram Ali from Pathan Tola, Sidhari police station area, was found tied in a sack and hanging from a wire near his house. Following the incident, local residents staged an angry protest, accusing the police of negligence. The police have launched an investigation into the kidnapping and murder of the deceased child.
Case of Child's Abduction and Murder
According to information, Saheb Alam left home on Wednesday evening and did not return. The family informed the police that very night, but no concrete information was found until morning. On Thursday, Saheb's body was found hanging from a wire near the adjacent house, causing fear and panic in the area.
Police arriving at the scene immediately called the forensic team, dog squad, and surveillance team to begin the investigation. Bloodstains were found in the house opposite where the body was discovered, leading to the assumption that the child was murdered there, and his body was then put into a sack and hung near the house.
No Help Received Despite Ransom Call
The police had received information that the family received a ransom call after the child's abduction. The family informed the police about this, but it is alleged that the police failed to take effective action in time. Consequently, Saheb Alam's life could not be saved.
Neighbors and locals state that if the police had acted in a timely manner, the child could have been saved. This incident has raised questions about the functioning of the police administration and has caused deep resentment among the public.
Angry Crowd Protest and Allegations Against Neighbor
As news of the body's discovery spread, people from the vicinity gathered at the scene. A large crowd began protesting, accusing the police of negligence. During the protest, several people started accusing a neighbor from another community of the murder and attempted to set fire to their house, but the police immediately brought the situation under control.
To pacify the crowd, forces from 16 police stations and the PAC (Provincial Armed Constabulary) were deployed at the spot. SP City Madhuban Kumar Singh and ASP Chirag Jain also arrived and assured the public that the culprits would be arrested soon.
Strict Police Action
Superintendent of Police Dr. Anil Kumar, who arrived at the scene, stated that a case has been registered based on the family's complaint, and several police teams have been deployed to search for the accused. The accused are currently absconding and are likely hiding with their families in a safe location.
The Superintendent of Police added that if any negligence by a police officer comes to light during the investigation, strict action will be taken against them. Furthermore, security has been increased across the entire area to prevent the recurrence of such incidents. Officials stated that the accused would be arrested soon and justice would be served.
