Pakistan Bomb Blast in Balochistan: Pakistan's restive Balochistan province has once again been hit by violence. A bomb blast near Jabar Market in Killa Abdullah district on Sunday sent shockwaves through the region. The explosion resulted in four fatalities and over twenty injuries.
Following the blast, a climate of fear gripped the area, and authorities immediately sealed off the vicinity.
Market Devastation Following Explosion
According to local media reports, the blast was so powerful that several shops collapsed, and some establishments caught fire. The bomb detonated near the rear wall of a Frontier Corps (FC) fort.
Killa Abdullah's Deputy Commissioner, Riaz Khan, stated that unknown assailants were likely behind the attack. Following the explosion, a firefight erupted between FC personnel and the attackers, further escalating tensions.
Casualties Include Elderly and Security Personnel
Among the injured were a security guard of tribal elder Haji Fazullah Khan Ghabijei, several shopkeepers, and passersby. All injured individuals were admitted to local hospitals, with several reported to be in critical condition.
The area has been evacuated, and a search operation is underway. Security agencies are investigating the attack to determine responsibility and identify those involved in the plot.
Prior Shooting Incident
This bomb blast follows a recent incident involving gunfire at a checkpoint in the Nal area of Khuzdar district, Balochistan, where four Levy security personnel were killed.
The Levy force is a paramilitary organization responsible for security in Pakistan's rural and tribal areas. In recent years, these forces have faced consistent attacks from Baloch insurgents.
