Baloch Insurgents Launch Major Suicide Attack on Foreign Experts' Compound in Pakistan

Baloch insurgents carried out a major suicide attack in Pakistan's Balochistan, targeting a compound for foreign experts at the Reko Diq mining project. BLF claimed responsibility, sparking security fears.

A major suicide attack has been carried out by a Baloch insurgent group in Pakistan. This attack occurred in a sensitive area, raising serious questions about the security arrangements. Currently, the official death toll has not been released, and the situation remains tense.

Pakistan Balochistan: A major suicide attack in Pakistan's Balochistan province has shaken the entire region. Fidayeen attacks were carried out on Sunday night near the Frontier Corps (FC) headquarters in the Nokundi area. This attack took place in a sensitive compound where arrangements were made for foreign experts, engineers, and staff associated with the Reko Diq and Saindak mining projects to live and work. According to information, the Baloch insurgent group carried out this attack at approximately 9 PM, initially detonating 5 large explosions at the compound, after which firing on security forces commenced.

BLF Claims Responsibility for Attack

BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch issued a statement saying that the Sado Operational Battalion (SOB) unit of the BLF carried out this attack. He stated that the compound targeted in the attack was where foreign experts and engineers associated with the mining project were accommodated. The Pakistani government has consistently declared this entire area as sensitive and secure, but this attack raises serious questions about security.

Emergency Declared in Hospitals

Following the clashes between Baloch insurgents and the Pakistani army, the official death toll has not yet been released. However, according to Pakistani media reports, an emergency has been declared in all hospitals in the Chagai district, where Nokundi is located. This is the same area that Pakistan has long presented to the world as the hub of its “safest” foreign investment project.

Pakistan's Claims on Reko Diq and Saindak

The government of Pakistan has consistently promoted the Reko Diq (Reko Diq) and Saindak (Saindak) mining projects as major opportunities for global investment. In June, during a meeting with US President Donald Trump, Pakistan's Field Marshal Asim Munir invited the US to invest in the Reko Diq mine. Pakistan has claimed that Reko Diq is one of the world's largest gold–copper mines, containing trillions of dollars worth of untapped copper and gold.

EXIM Bank Loan

Just a few days ago, the US EXIM Bank approved a loan of approximately 350 billion Pakistani Rupees for the Reko Diq project. However, the fidayeen attack on the very compound that was claimed to be secure for foreign engineers and staff has raised serious concerns about the security of the entire project.

Pakistan Trapped in Its Own Web of Terror

Pakistan, which has spread terror across the world, now faces the very threat it nurtured for years. On November 24, a similar fidayeen attack occurred at the FC Headquarters in Peshawar, for which the TTP's proxy group Jamaat-ul-Ahrar claimed responsibility. Furthermore, in the last 10 days, the Pakistani army killed 30 terrorists, including Abu Dujana alias Ali Hamdan from Bahawalpur and Mohammad Haris from PoK.

These two terrorists were initially trained by ISI and Jaish-e-Mohammed to spread terrorism in India, but later joined the TTP and began attacking the Pakistani army itself.
