For cricket enthusiasts, an exciting cricket series is set to begin in Bangladesh. A three-match ODI series will be played between Bangladesh and West Indies starting October 18. The host team has announced its official squad for this series.
Sports News: The West Indies team has now departed for their tour of Bangladesh after concluding a two-match Test series against India. They are scheduled to play a series of 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is. Cricket West Indies had already announced their squad for this series. Now, host Bangladesh has also unveiled its squad for the three-match ODI series, which commences on October 18.
Previously, the Bangladesh team had suffered a clean sweep in the matches played against Afghanistan. Keeping this in mind, two changes have been made to the squad this time.
Changes Made to Bangladesh Squad
During the last Afghanistan tour, the Bangladesh team faced a clean sweep. This time, two significant changes have been made to the squad announced for the West Indies series. Opening batsman Mohammad Naim and fast bowler Nahid Rana have not been included in this series. Meanwhile, Soumya Sarkar has been given an opportunity to return to the team.
Soumya Sarkar last played for the Bangladesh team in the 2025 Champions Trophy. His return to the team is expected to strengthen the batting line-up. Additionally, Litton Das is not fully fit due to an injury sustained during the Asia Cup 2025 and will not feature in this series.
Three ODI Matches to be Played in Dhaka
The three-match ODI series between Bangladesh and West Indies will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.

- Second Match: October 21
- Third and Final Match: October 23
Following the ODI series, a three-match T20I series will also be played between the two teams, commencing on October 27. The T20I matches will be hosted by Chattogram Stadium.
