Sports News: In preparation for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) franchise has taken a significant step by including former Team India bowling coach Bharat Arun in their coaching staff. Bharat Arun has been appointed as the new fast bowling coach for the team, which is a clear indication that LSG is preparing to give a new direction to its bowling in the upcoming season.

Bharat Arun was previously associated with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for four years, where he played a significant role as a bowling advisor. He terminated his contract with KKR on July 29, 2025, and has now joined the Lucknow franchise.

Major Change in Coaching Staff

The Lucknow Super Giants team has taken steps to further strengthen its coaching staff for IPL 2026. The team already has Zaheer Khan as a mentor, Justin Langer as the head coach, and Lance Klusener as the assistant coach. With the addition of an experienced bowling coach like Bharat Arun, LSG's bowling unit is expected to take on a new shape.

In the official statement released by the team, it was said that the addition of Bharat Arun will strengthen our fast bowling unit. His strategic thinking and experience will benefit our team, and the players will become technically and mentally ber.

Bharat Arun's Reaction

Expressing his enthusiasm about his new stint with Lucknow Super Giants, Bharat Arun said, "I am extremely happy to join LSG. The team has young and talented fast bowlers like Akashdeep, Avesh Khan, and Mayank Yadav. My endeavor will be to prepare a bowling unit that can put pressure on the opposition batsmen in any situation."

He further added that the franchise's vision, professional environment, and commitment to player development were significant in attracting him to this role. The IPL 2025 season was not particularly special for Lucknow Super Giants. The team managed to win only 6 out of 14 matches and was eliminated from the tournament, finishing seventh in the points table. The team was captained by Rishabh Pant, but due to injuries and lack of consistency, the team struggled.
