Bhopal Police Personnel Arrested in ₹10 Lakh Fake Medical Bill Scam

A fake medical bill scam has been uncovered at Bhopal Police Headquarters. Three police personnel, Harsh, Neeraj, and Rajpal Thakur, have been arrested for defrauding approximately 10 lakh rupees. An investigation has been launched into the case under sections 420, 467, 468, and 471.

Bhopal: News of a major scam has emerged from Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. Three police personnel posted at the Police Headquarters allegedly colluded to prepare fake medical bills and withdrew approximately 10 lakh rupees from the department. Following a complaint by DSP O.P. Mishra, a case of fraud and forgery has been registered against the three police personnel.

The investigation revealed that this scam had been ongoing for a long time, but it came to light due to discrepancies in documents during a routine audit. Officials stated that this incident highlights the importance of internal control and monitoring systems within the police department.

Arrested Police Personnel Accused of Fake Bills

Jahangirabad Police Station In-charge, Chaturbhuj Rathore, stated that the accused are Harsh, Neeraj, and Rajpal Thakur. All three were posted as cashiers at the Police Headquarters. Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused, in a mutual conspiracy, prepared fake treatment bills in the names of three different individuals, got them approved, and had the payments credited to their own accounts.

Police informed that this fraud was confirmed when information regarding patient treatment was sought from the concerned hospitals. The hospitals clarified that there was no record of the patients in whose names the bills were generated.

Uncovering the Case and Sections Registered

The scam came to light during a routine bill audit. The investigation team cross-verified the documents, and the fraud was proven. Subsequently, DSP O.P. Mishra prepared a detailed report, and a case was registered under sections 420, 467, 468, and 471.

Fake documents have been seized during the investigation, and interrogation of the accused police personnel is ongoing. Officials stated that this investigation is still in its preliminary stage, and the involvement of more individuals may be uncovered.
