Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Announces Honorarium Increase for ASHA and Mamata Workers

Bihar is gearing up for the Assembly elections this year, and amidst the heightened political activity, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is continuously making populist announcements. In the latest announcement, he has declared a significant increase in the honorarium for ASHA and Mamata workers. This will not only directly benefit thousands of frontline health workers but will also strengthen the rural healthcare system of the state.

ASHA to now get 3 thousand

CM Nitish Kumar, while sharing information on social media platform X on Wednesday morning, stated that the incentive amount given to ASHA workers has now been increased from ₹1,000 to ₹3,000. Similarly, the amount given to Mamata workers per delivery has been increased from ₹300 to ₹600. He said that this decision will boost the morale of these workers and honor their work.

Nitish wrote that his government has been continuously striving to improve healthcare services in the state since 2005, and ASHA-Mamata workers have played a crucial role in this direction. This decision has been taken keeping their contribution in mind.

Announcements being made continuously

The pace of announcements by the Nitish government has accelerated ahead of the Assembly elections. In the past few weeks, he has made several important announcements, the direct benefit of which is reaching the general public. Increase in the pension amount for journalists, 125 units of free electricity, increasing social security pension from ₹400 to ₹1,100, and directing to conduct the TRE-4 examination related to the recruitment of teachers soon – with many such decisions, the government is trying to provide relief to the people.

These steps of Nitish Kumar are being seen as a strategy to woo the common people, employees, and needy sections before the elections. Especially, the increase in honorarium for workers active in rural areas is considered a major positive message.
