The last date for filling forms under the voter list revision campaign in Bihar has been extended to July 26. Awareness chariots have been dispatched in view of the low participation in urban areas.
Bihar Election 2025: Amidst the preparations for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, the Election Commission has made a major announcement under the Special Intensive Revision Campaign of the voter list. Now, the last date for filling the counting form has been extended from July 25 to July 26, 2025. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the low participation in urban areas. As per the instructions of the Chief Electoral Officer, all eligible voters are being encouraged to fill their forms within the stipulated time frame.
Low Participation in Urban Areas Remains a Concern
According to the Election Commission's report, satisfactory participation has been observed in the verification of the voter list in rural areas. However, the rate of filling counting forms in urban areas has been relatively low. Considering this, special initiatives are being taken in Patna, the capital city, and other urban areas to ensure that people actively participate in this campaign.
Verification Being Done Through Public Awareness Chariots
Adopting a new strategy, the Election Department has dispatched mobile awareness chariots in urban areas. The objective of these chariots is to inform citizens about the voter list revision process and provide counting forms on the spot.
On Tuesday, in Patna, the capital city, these awareness chariots were flagged off by Additional Secretary of the Election Department, Madhav Kumar Singh, and Joint Secretary Mithilesh Kumar Sahu.
Assistance Available for Filling Forms
Employees appointed in these awareness chariots are providing assistance to citizens in filling out the forms on the spot. This initiative is proving to be extremely useful for those voters who do not have the facility to fill the form through digital means.
