SIR Process: Change After 22 Years
In Bihar, this SIR (Systematic Identification of Voters) process has taken place after 22 years. Under this process, the accuracy and reliability of the voter list are ensured. Opposition parties have criticized SIR and claimed that it could disenfranchise many genuine citizens.
However, the Election Commission states that no eligible citizen will be excluded from the voter list and no ineligible person will be included in the list.
