Preparations have begun to develop a new industrial hub on 231 acres of land in the Naini industrial area of Prayagraj. The land of Bharat Pumps and Compressors Limited has come under the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA), which is preparing an action plan for its planned development. The project is expected to create direct and indirect employment opportunities for more than 10,000 people in Purvanchal.
UPSIDA plans to develop a new industrial corridor on the 231-acre site in Naini. The objective is to make land available for different manufacturing and industrial units based on the requirements of eastern Uttar Pradesh.
The proposed corridor may accommodate units related to machinery, automobile components, engineering, electrical equipment, packaging and construction materials. The entry of large industrial companies along with their ancillary units is also expected to support local businesses and supply chains.
The development is expected to expand industrial activity in Prayagraj and surrounding areas. The authority is preparing a planned development framework covering land use, plot utilisation and industrial activities.
The industrial corridor is estimated to create direct and indirect employment for more than 10,000 people. Employment opportunities are expected to arise for local youth as well as people from other parts of Purvanchal.

Industrial units will require technical and non-technical employees. Additional employment opportunities are also expected in services such as hotels, transportation, security, maintenance and catering. Expansion of industrial activity may also support small businesses and the local services sector.
According to UPSIDA Regional Manager Santosh Kumar, preliminary work has begun on the planned development of the land, plot utilisation and industrial activities. Possible development models for different components of the project are also being considered.
Private-sector participation has also been proposed for the development of the 231-acre site. A public-private partnership (PPP) model may be used to develop luxury hotels, marriage gardens and other commercial projects.
The development of commercial facilities alongside the industrial area is expected to expand business and service activities in Naini. These facilities would also support the requirements of investors, companies and employees operating in the area.
The proposed project also includes plans to develop a golf course. The facility is planned alongside industrial and commercial activities in Naini.
The development of a golf course and hotels is intended to attract investors and business groups to the area. These facilities are also expected to create additional local employment opportunities in operations, maintenance, transportation, catering and related services.
Once the development of the 231-acre site is completed, industrial activity as well as commercial and service-sector activity is expected to expand in the Naini industrial area. However, detailed information on the final project structure, investment and development timeline will become clear after further planning and approvals.
