After this, the narrator in the video says that the country lost its voice, democracy was buried, the press was silenced, and opposition leaders were jailed. The video ends with the text, "Indira is not equal to India, Indira is equal to Hitler."
Sharp Opposition from the Congress
The Congress has reacted sharply to this post. Karnataka Congress leader S. Manohar has filed a police complaint, calling the video offensive. He alleged that the BJP's post is not only insulting to Indira Gandhi but also an attempt to incite hatred among religious groups and communities. Another video was posted from the BJP's X account. It called the Emergency "Hitler's remnant... in a saree." This 12-second AI-generated video shows Indira Gandhi wearing a saree on a podium. The Congress has also expressed displeasure over this video and called it an insult to women.
