The threat was delivered through a message sent to his official WhatsApp number. Notably, the message was written in Bengali. Threatening message received on phone this morning
According to information, the threatening message was received on Sangeet Som's official number around 8 am on Monday. The message not only threatened Sangeet Som but also mentioned blowing up a News Channel. Upon receiving the message, Sangeet Som immediately informed the Meerut Police and handed over screenshots of the message along with call details.
Concern heightened by threat in Bengali
The fact that the threatening message was in Bengali is considered a significant clue for the police. Investigation agencies are trying to ascertain the sender's location and motive. Police are also investigating whether the threat is linked to any organized network or political opposition.
Meerut Police registers case
Based on Sangeet Som's complaint, Meerut Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation. Police state that the location and identity of the number that sent the message are being investigated based on technical evidence. The Cyber Team has also been assigned to the case to thoroughly examine the WhatsApp message and call details.
