Bihar Politics: A major political event unfolded at the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) state office in Patna on Sunday. Suresh Prasad Chaurasia, the state spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Backward Classes Wing, along with his supporters, joined the RJD. Senior RJD leader and state vice-president Dr. Tanveer Hasan inducted him into the party and honored him with the book 'Gopalganj to Raisina'.
Several Leaders Present
RJD state spokespersons Ejaz Ahmed, state general secretary Fayaz Alam Kamal, and Sanjay Yadav were also present on the occasion. These leaders welcomed Suresh Chaurasia and his supporters to the RJD, describing it as a strengthening move for the party.
Appeal to Save the Constitution
RJD state vice-president Dr. Tanveer Hasan said on this occasion that conspiracies to weaken the country's constitution and democracy are constantly underway. He said that in such times, it is the responsibility of every aware citizen and leader to play their role in protecting the constitution. He stated that the RJD's principle is based on social justice and the protection of democracy.
Pledge to Advance the Ideas of Lalu and Tejashwi
In his address, Dr. Hasan said that it is necessary to take the ideas of the party's national president Lalu Prasad Yadav and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav to the masses. He said that Tejashwi Yadav has given a new direction to Bihar's development under his leadership. The schemes implemented in the fields of education, health, tourism, IT, and agriculture have started showing positive effects.
Discussion of the Achievements of the Tejashwi Government
Dr. Hasan said that during the 17-month Grand Alliance government, Tejashwi Yadav worked with a focus on employment and development. In particular, decisions such as the restoration of government jobs for the youth, promotion of technical education, and investment in the IT sector have won the trust of the public.
Opposition to Politics of Hate
RJD leaders emphasized in their address that ending the politics of hatred and polarization in Bihar is the biggest need of the hour. They believe that the welfare of the public can only be achieved through concrete issues like development and employment.
Although Suresh Prasad Chaurasia did not elaborate on the reasons for formally leaving the BJP, political analysts believe that neglect within the party and ideological differences may be the main reasons.
