Anushka Sharma's 'Chakda Xpress' Faces Uncertainty: Release Delayed, Not Shelved

The shooting of 'Çakda Xpress' remains incomplete, and uncertainty looms over its release. Co-actor Dibyendu Bhattacharya has stated that the film is not shelved but is facing production delays. Fans are still awaiting Anushka Sharma's comeback.

Anushka Sharma: The wait for Anushka Sharma's comeback film, 'Çakda Xpress,' has been ongoing for the past two years. The film was officially announced in 2022 and was touted as a biopic of Indian women's cricketer Jhulan Goswami. However, the film has not been released yet. Consequently, there have been continuous reports suggesting that the film might have been shelved. Amidst this, the film's co-actor, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, has given a fresh statement shedding some new light on the situation.

Incomplete Shooting is the Biggest Reason

Dibyendu Bhattacharya recently revealed in an interview that the shooting of 'Çakda Xpress' is yet to be completed. He disclosed, "I have seen some portions of the film at director Prosit Roy's house. It is a truly beautiful film, but it is incomplete. Anushka Sharma's acting is excellent, but a lot of work remains." This implies that the film is not shelved but incomplete, and the wait for its completion continues.

Fans and Actors Both Confused

Dibyendu says that he, like the fans, does not know when the film will finally be released. He said, "If I had any concrete information, I would be the first to inform people. I don't know what discussions are going on between Netflix and Clean Slate Production." This statement makes it clear that uncertainty prevails regarding the film's release date.

Why is 'Çakda Xpress' Stuck?

The film was being jointly produced by Clean Slate Films (Anushka's brother Karnesh Sharma's production house) and Netflix. However, the partnership between the two ended in 2024. This is the reason the project stalled, and further shooting and post-production work came to a halt.

Anushka Sharma's Comeback After a Long Break

Anushka Sharma last worked in the film 'Zero' in 2018. After this, she took a break from the industry. In between, she only appeared in a cameo role in the film 'Qala.' During this time, there was a major change in her personal life—she became a mother of two and spent time abroad with her family. Fans were very excited about her return. But the continuous postponement of 'Çakda Xpress' is proving disappointing for the audience.

Is the Film's Release Still Possible?

After Dibyendu's statement, it is clear that the film is not completely finished. This means that it would not be correct to call it shelved. But the question remains: when will the issues related to production and distribution be resolved? If a new deal is made between Netflix and Clean Slate or a new platform comes forward, this film may be completed and released.

Fans' Hopes Still Remain

The audience has always had high expectations regarding Anushka Sharma's acting. Especially for a film based on an inspiring figure like Jhulan Goswami, the excitement is even greater. On social media, people repeatedly ask, "When is 'Çakda Xpress' coming?"
