Chandrashekhar Azad Alleges Multi-Crore Compensation Scam in UP's NH-27 Project

Chandrashekhar Azad, the National President of Azad Samaj Party and Member of Parliament from Nagina, has leveled a serious allegation against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in a letter.

Lucknow: Chandrashekhar Azad, the National President of Azad Samaj Party and Member of Parliament from Nagina, has written a letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath alleging a multi-crore compensation scam in the NH-27 four-lane project. Chandrashekhar Azad has demanded an impartial investigation into this scam by the CBI or STF.

He has alleged that the scam was carried out in collusion with land mafia and revenue department officials, due to which the actual landowners were not able to get the compensation they were entitled to.

Scam of 78.42 Crore in Project, Allegations Against Land Mafia

In his letter, MP Chandrashekhar Azad wrote that an amount of ₹78.42 crore was deposited in the account of the revenue department for land acquisition under the NH-27 four-lane project in the Kalpi area of Jalaun district. But this amount was distributed in a planned manner among fake individuals and land mafia.

According to him, the real landowners of Kalpi Khas and Damdama area affected by the project are still wandering from pillar to post for compensation. At the same time, land mafia and their close relatives have been illegally given crores of rupees in compensation with the connivance of officials.

Serious Allegations Against Officials Too

Chandrashekhar Azad wrote in his letter that Lekhpals, Revenue Inspectors, and municipal officials are directly involved in this scam. He alleged that the land mafia also got fake checks issued in the name of their in-laws and close relatives. Calling it an organized scam, he said that it is not only a misuse of government funds but also injustice to the poor and needy real landowners. The livelihoods of the affected families, the education of their children, and their weddings have been directly affected.

According to the MP, the real landowners of Kalpi whose land and houses have been acquired have been making rounds of government offices for justice for the last 17 years. But due to corruption and collusion, they have not been able to get compensation. Chandrashekhar has described this entire episode as tarnishing the image of the government and has written that if it is not investigated promptly and impartially, it will raise questions on the government's policies towards farmers and the poor.

Demand for Investigation by CBI or STF

The Nagina MP has demanded that this entire scam should be investigated by an independent and impartial agency like CBI or STF. He said that the land mafia and guilty officials should be taken into custody and interrogated thoroughly so that the complete truth of the scam can come out. The MP says that physical verification and public audit should be made mandatory in this matter so that no victim is deprived of compensation and the culprits are punished.

MP Chandrashekhar Azad is preparing to raise this issue on the national stage, not limiting it to Uttar Pradesh. He says that looting the general public and farmers in the name of government schemes is shameful for any democratic system. He expressed confidence that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will take immediate and effective action in this matter.
