The Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee has appointed Vikas Sangar as the coordinator for the Patti Assembly constituency. On Sunday, upon Sangar's first visit to Patti, he received a warm welcome from party workers led by the District Congress President and former MLA, Harminder Singh Gill.
Patti: Political activity in Punjab has intensified. The Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee has appointed Vikas Sangar as the coordinator for the Patti Assembly constituency. On Sunday, upon his arrival in Patti, Congress workers gave him a rousing welcome. At the event, Congress leaders bly criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and, specifically, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Kejriwal Now Worried About His Seat
In his speech, Vikas Sangar sharply attacked the AAP government, stating that in 2022, the Aam Aadmi Party misled the people of Punjab in the name of change. Today, those same people feel cheated. Arvind Kejriwal has lost power in Delhi, and the prestige of his Chief Ministership is troubling him. Therefore, he is now trying to consolidate his political hold on Punjab.
Referring to the Ludhiana by-election, Sangar alleged that the government resorted to everything from distributing expensive liquor to ration, claiming the level of electoral malpractice was unprecedented. However, he asserted that the public is now awake, and the winds of change are once again blowing in favor of the Congress, even before 2027.
All Organizations United to Strengthen Congress
Vikas Sangar emphasized that organizational unity is the party's strength. He announced that all organizations, including Youth Congress, SC Wing, BC Wing, Mahila Mandal, Congress Seva Dal, Rahul Gandhi Congress, and Congress Brigade, will now work on 'Mission Majbooti' (Mission Strength). The Congress message will be conveyed to every village and every panchayat. We will establish dialogue in every village, because now is the time to become the voice of the people.
District Congress President and former MLA Harminder Singh Gill also targeted the AAP government, stating that three and a half years have passed, but the Aam Aadmi Party government has not undertaken any concrete development. Panchayats are harassed by the arbitrary actions of Cabinet Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar in the Patti constituency. Instead of consensus, there is a politics of coercion. The people now want change, and the Congress is the only alternative.
Increased Enthusiasm and Mobilization of Party Workers
Several senior Congress leaders and officials were present on this occasion. The program included participation from former SGPC member Sukhwinder Singh, former Chairman of the Zila Parishad Charanjit Sharma, Prof. Navreet Singh Jallewal, Vijay Sharma, Dalbir Singh Sekhon (former President, Nagar Council Patti), Harmann Sekhon (Youth Congress General Secretary), Ram Singh, and many other leaders. Workers honored Vikas Sangar with flowers and garlands, assuring their support to the party.
According to political analysts, such organized efforts indicate that the Congress is once again moving towards strengthening its base in Punjab. Arvind Kejriwal's mounting challenges, the dissatisfaction among NDA's constituent parties at the center, and the AAP's alleged failures in the state could give the Congress another opportunity.
