Karan Johar’s reality show ‘The Traitors Season 2’ held its grand finale on September 3, with Crystal D’Souza and Rida Tharana emerging as the winners. The two winners received the show’s trophy along with a total prize money of Rs 66 lakh.
The second season of ‘The Traitors’ concluded on September 3. Crystal D’Souza and Rida Tharana won the title after reaching the final stage as Traitors and maintaining their strategy until the end.
Throughout the season, the show involved a game of trust, deception and strategy. Crystal D’Souza and Rida Tharana concealed their identities as Traitors and eliminated players one after another. By the time they reached the finale, they had made it difficult for the other contestants to identify their strategy.
Before the decisive stage of the finale, Crystal D’Souza and Rida Tharana eliminated Mallika Sherawat from the game. After her elimination, Dalip Tahil, Shalini Passi, Sahil Salathia, Rida Tharana and Crystal D’Souza remained in contention for the finale.
The contestants then took part in the final major mission, in which they had to find gold bars from bags placed on camels.
At that point, the prize money stood at Rs 48.40 lakh. The contestants added Rs 17.60 lakh during the mission, taking the total prize money to Rs 66 lakh.After the mission, the contestants entered the ‘Circle of Suspicion’ round. During the round, Sahil Salathia and Dalip Tahil had an argument, while Shalini Passi also objected to some of Dalip’s comments.
Crystal D’Souza used the situation to build support for her strategy among the other contestants and succeeded in getting Dalip Tahil voted out. Despite reaching close to the finale, Dalip was unable to fully convince the other contestants about his actual role.
After Dalip Tahil’s elimination, four contestants remained: Shalini Passi, Sahil Salathia, Crystal D’Souza and Rida Tharana.
The next stage featured a box for each contestant, with two options: ‘Trust’ and ‘Suspicion’. If all four contestants chose ‘Trust’, the game would end immediately. If any contestant chose ‘Suspicion’, the game would continue and a contestant would be eliminated through voting.
In the first round, all four contestants chose ‘Suspicion’. A subsequent vote resulted in Sahil Salathia’s elimination from the game.
Three contestants remained for the second round. Crystal D’Souza chose ‘Trust’, while Rida Tharana also selected ‘Trust’. Shalini Passi once again chose ‘Suspicion’.
Another vote followed. Shalini voted against Rida, while Crystal and Rida voted against Shalini. Shalini was subsequently eliminated from the game.
Crystal D’Souza and Rida Tharana were the only contestants left and won ‘The Traitors Season 2’ title together. Crystal had the option of eliminating Rida and attempting to win the entire prize money alone, but she continued to support her partner until the final stage.
