CSIR UGC NET June 2025 Exam Date Revised to July 28: Key Details

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has made a significant change to the exam dates for the CSIR UGC NET June 2025 session. Initially, the examination was scheduled to be held over three days, specifically on July 26, 27, and 28. However, it will now be conducted on a single day, July 28, 2025. The NTA has released the revised exam schedule on its official website in this regard.

Change Due to HTET

The reason for this change in the exam schedule is the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET), which was clashing with one of the previously scheduled dates. Considering the interests of the students, the NTA has decided to conduct the examinations for all subjects of CSIR NET on the same day.

Exams to be Held Across the Country

Candidates who have applied for the CSIR NET June 2025 session will now take their exams on July 28 at designated examination centers across the country. Information regarding the examination center, shift, and roll number will be provided to the candidates through the admit card, which can be downloaded a few days before the exam date.

Subjects for the Examination

According to the information provided by the NTA, the examination will be conducted for the following subjects:

  • Mathematical Sciences
  • Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences
  • Chemical Sciences
  • Life Sciences
  • Physical Sciences

The examination for all these subjects will be held on the same day in two shifts.

Examination in Two Shifts

As per the NTA schedule, the exam will be conducted in two shifts:

  • Morning Shift: 9 AM to 12 PM
  • Afternoon Shift: 3 PM to 6 PM

Candidates will get information about their respective shifts from the admit card, so it is important to read it carefully.

Exam City Slip to be Released 8 to 10 Days Prior

The examination city slip will be released to candidates approximately 8 to 10 days before the exam. Through this city intimation slip, candidates will be able to know the city in which they have to take the exam. This will enable candidates to plan their travel and accommodation in advance.

Admit Cards Available 4 Days Before the Exam

The NTA has informed that the admit cards will be uploaded on the website approximately 4 days before the exam date. Candidates are advised to download their admit cards on time and keep a printout.

Keep an Eye on the Official Website

All important information related to the examination, such as the exam city slip, admit card, examination center information, and shift details, will be available only on the official website csirnet.nta.ac.in.

Candidates should regularly check this website so that they do not miss any information.

Entry Only with Admit Card
The admit card is mandatory for entry into the examination hall. In addition, a valid photo identity card must also be carried. Recognized identity cards include Aadhaar card, PAN card, Voter ID card, Passport, and Driving License.

The city slip cannot be used as an admit card, so candidates must carry both documents.

Candidates must reach the examination center before the reporting time, and mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, or any electronic devices are not allowed inside. Only blue or black ink ballpoint pens and the admit card along with an identity card will be permitted for the exam.

Examination System and Question Paper

The CSIR UGC NET exam will be conducted in online mode (CBT). It will consist of multiple-choice questions, and the paper pattern will vary for different subjects. Candidates must prepare according to their chosen subject.
