New links in a terror conspiracy are emerging during the investigation of the Delhi bomb blast. Following information obtained from the phone of Dr. Muzammil, arrested in Faridabad, agencies are now searching for over a dozen doctors whose connections are believed to be linked to the alleged terror module and the Al-Falah University network.
Delhi: The investigation into the bomb blast in the national capital is progressing rapidly, with agencies uncovering signs of a deep conspiracy network. An examination of phone data belonging to Dr. Muzammil, arrested from Faridabad, revealed several numbers to investigators, suggesting the involvement of a dozen doctors. Information has emerged indicating that all of them are connected to the alleged terror module and a network associated with Al-Falah University.
According to sources, these doctors' phones have been switched off continuously since the Red Fort blast, deepening suspicions. Police have so far questioned more than 10 doctors, while efforts to trace the locations of others are ongoing. Agencies believe that the module's spread among medical professionals could pose a new challenge for security agencies.
Crackdown on Doctors Linked to Module
Investigating agencies raided Firozpur Jhirka and Nuh, arresting three more doctors—Dr. Mohammed, Dr. Rehan, and Dr. Mustakeem. Interrogations revealed that these doctors were connected to the alleged terror module and were involved in a purported conspiracy to turn Kashmir into 'Darul Islam' through Muzammil, absconding Muzaffar, and a foreign handler. According to agencies, they were being brainwashed with slogans like 'Sharia or Shahadat' (Islamic law or martyrdom). Before the bomb blast, Dr. Omar was continuously in contact with the foreign handler via video calls, who incited him to carry out the attack.
Lethal Mixture Used in Blast
Forensic investigation has clarified that a dangerous mixture of ammonium nitrate and triacetone triperoxide (TATP) was used in the blast near the Red Fort. According to experts, approximately 35 kg of ammonium nitrate was involved in this explosion, while the sale of high-explosives like TATP is subject to strict restrictions. This combination is considered extremely powerful and destructive.
The investigation team also questioned Dr. Priyanka Sharma from Haryana, who was in contact with suspect Adil and is pursuing higher education in Anantnag. However, after questioning, the police released her as no evidence of her involvement was found.
NIA Apprehends Main Conspirator
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) made its first major arrest in this case, apprehending Aamir Rashid Ali, a resident of Pampore. According to the agency, the I-20 car used in the explosion was registered in his name, and he played a significant role in carrying out the conspiracy after arriving in Delhi.
The NIA has so far interrogated 73 witnesses, including those injured in the blast. The investigating agency believes that Aamir is the main link in this entire terrorist plot, and his arrest will be a crucial success in breaking down the module's structure and network.
