The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain in Gurugram and Faridabad, while Noida and Ghaziabad are unlikely to receive any rain. Meanwhile, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain on August 14th, 16th, and 17th, which is expected to provide relief from the humid heat and improve air quality.

Chance of Clouds and Light Rain

The weather in Delhi-NCR is expected to be pleasant on Independence Day. According to the Meteorological Department, the sky will be cloudy in the capital on August 15th, with a possibility of light rain in the morning. At the same time, an alert for heavy rain has been issued for Gurugram and Faridabad. The weather is expected to remain normal during the main program of celebrating the 79th Independence Day in Delhi. The department has also clarified that no heavy rain warning has been issued for the capital so far.

The maximum temperature during the day is estimated to be between 31 and 33 degrees Celsius, and the night temperature is expected to be between 22 and 24 degrees Celsius. Light rain and cloudy weather may reduce the humidity to some extent during the Independence Day celebrations.

Heavy Rain in Gurugram-Faridabad

The Meteorological Department has predicted the possibility of heavy rain in Gurugram and Faridabad, adjacent to Delhi, on August 15th. Many areas may experience heavy showers, while South Delhi, adjacent to Faridabad, may also experience light drizzle.

In contrast, the possibility of rain in Noida and Ghaziabad is very low. On Independence Day, the sky will be cloudy here, but there will be no rain. In such a situation, programs can be organized in these areas without any rain interruption.

Improvement in Air Quality

Currently, humid heat is troubling people in Delhi-NCR, due to the alternating presence of bright sunshine and clouds. The department estimates that the temperature may drop slightly in the next 24 hours. On August 13th, the maximum temperature is likely to be around 34 degrees Celsius and the minimum around 24-25 degrees Celsius, while the humidity level will remain between 55-70 percent.

The sky will be cloudy on August 14th, with a possibility of light to moderate rain. There is also a possibility of light rain or thunderstorms on August 16th and 17th. The continuous drizzle during these days is expected to not only provide relief from the heat but also improve air quality.
