Weather Alert: Delhi Humidity Persists Amidst Rain, Heavy Rainfall Expected in Several States

Despite Rain in Delhi, Humidity Persists. Heavy Rain Alert Issued for Himachal, Rajasthan, and Jharkhand. The Meteorological Department has declared Yellow, Orange, and Red Alerts in several states.

Weather Alert: Despite the rainfall in Delhi and surrounding areas over the past few days, the effects of humidity and heat have not subsided. On July 6th, people still had to endure sticky heat. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Alert for today. It is anticipated that there will be thunderstorms with rain in the afternoon, evening, and night. Strong winds and lightning are also expected during this period.

Warning of Rain, Thunderstorms, and Lightning Throughout the Day

The weather department has clarified that there may be light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning strikes in Delhi-NCR today. There are currently no severe warnings like Red or Orange alerts. The estimated maximum temperature is 34 degrees Celsius and the minimum is 27 degrees Celsius. Humidity is expected to be 85 percent in the morning and around 65 percent in the evening.

What will the weather be like in the coming days?

On July 7th, the sky will be generally cloudy with moderate rainfall. Between July 8th and 10th, light to heavy rain with thunderstorms is expected. The weather department has advised people to avoid open spaces during lightning, avoid unnecessary outdoor trips, and exercise caution while driving.

Monsoon Active in Rajasthan

The southwest monsoon has become active in Rajasthan. Heavy rainfall has been recorded, especially in western Rajasthan. In the last 24 hours, Indergarh in Bundi district received the highest rainfall, with 144 millimeters. According to the Jaipur Meteorological Center, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in many parts of eastern Rajasthan in the next few days. Rain activities may continue for three to four days in the Kota, Ajmer, Bharatpur, and Udaipur divisions.

Orange Alert Issued in Jharkhand

The India Meteorological Department has issued an Orange Alert for several districts of Jharkhand. Heavy rainfall is expected between July 6th and 7th in Gumla, Simdega, Khunti, and West Singhbhum. In addition, heavy rainfall may also occur in Lohardaga, Ranchi, Saraikela-Kharsawan, and East Singhbhum. People have been advised to be alert.

Red Alert in Himachal Pradesh, Life Affected

Himachal Pradesh has been experiencing continuous heavy rainfall for the past few days, resulting in the closure of over 260 roads. A maximum of 176 roads have been blocked in the Mandi district. The weather department has issued a Red Alert for Kangra, Sirmaur, and Mandi districts, anticipating excessive rainfall. Additionally, an Orange Alert has been issued for Una, Chamba, Shimla, Solan, Kullu, and Bilaspur districts. The government has expedited relief and rescue operations and advised people to avoid unnecessary travel.
